Jessa Agilo is the Founder of ArtsPond / Étang d’Arts, a non-profit devoted to empowering positive change in the arts through innovative collaborations for collective impact both on-the-ground and in-the-cloud.
Jessa studied music composition and electroacoustics, arts management, fundraising management, new media, and information technology management at five leading institutions across Canada. She has three decades of experience collaborating with hundreds of independent artists and small arts organizations as a multidisciplinary creator, educator, manager, producer, advocate, consultant, and social entrepreneur in BC, Alberta, Quebec and Ontario.
Most recently, Jessa is the leading the development of the “Arts Working Group”, a think-tank on the future of Charitable Venture Platforms, supported by Ontario Arts Council; “Managing Creativity”, an arts management e-learning resource research project for emerging artists-producers, supported by Canada Council for the Arts; Groundstory, a collective impact effort to address the drivers and adverse ripple effects of gentrification in the arts in Ontario; and, “Elemente”, a proposed open source, open data platform cooperative managing the public and private digital content and impact practice data of small creators and producers across Canada. With the support of Canada Council for the Arts, Jessa also recently launched a two-year digital literacy research project on emergent technologies relevant to the development of innovative digital arts services platforms.
